Panasonic Ag-3d A1 3D Camcorder Now Available For Hire Avatar 3D Resident evil 3D Saw 3D. It seems these days that you can not go to the cinema without being given that less than dashing pair of glasses and being made to jump out of you skin every time something unexpected pounces out at you. At a cost of around 15k it looks set to release the elitist filming of 3d from the pros and soon you're wedding DVD will be 3D. Panasonic have also been kind enough to allow normal 2D HD Recording which uses just the left side of the camera. The main issue with the 3D-A1 is not actually the camera, that is great, it is everything that comes along with it. Think of it as owning a cat, you have a cat bed, cat food and cat toys then the cat dies and you decide you want a dog so you go down the kennels choose the one you want and not until you get home does it hit you smack in the face like that extortionate rent increase you just had, and that is when you realise you need dog food, dog toys and a dog bed. Everything you had before is no use. It is the same, as when HD first came out you had to get new monitors, new editing software and new vision mixers. Its this plunge into the world of 3D that will take people time to decide if its right for them so the choice the hire 3d camcorders has never been a better option.
There really is not much bad to say on this camcorder and that is not because there is not anything bad about it. Its because we have nothing to compare it to, it is the first of its kind. It is the same as when the very first car came out you could not compare it to a horse and cart as it just is not one and you could not start making comments on the handling or grip as there is no bench mark. That is what the AG-3DA1 is a benchmark the first of many to come. Yes, in 10 years we will look back and think it was laughably bad but for now Perhaps the Panasonic Ag-3dA1 will reign as long as the queen but only time will tell.
