05th January 2010 New Sony XDCAM EX

Sony have released two new XDCAM models the PMW 350 and PMW EX1R.
The PMW 350 is Sony's First 3 chip 2/3-inch CMOS memory camcorder with features such as gen lock and time code in/out as well as its light weight and conventional u1 the PMW 350 should be a great addition in Sony's arsenal of XDCAM Models

PMW EX1R finally adds DVCAM shooting option. There have been a few other tweaks from there EX1 such as one push auto iris and S & Q switch, Improved handle grip and inverse function on the IR so that the camera can be operated via the remote from front and back. Unlike the PMW 350 the EX1R is not necessarily a new camcorder but what it is is what many people have wanted it to be from the start the upgrades that have been made may seem simple but out in the filed make a big difference.

Sony have also released a new SxS Card the SxS32G1 this card has a transfer rate of 800 Mbps and is far more affordable. Also they have the MEAD-MS01 an SXS adaptor to allow you to use Sony's Memory Stick Pro HG Duo HX Series.

All in all sony are expanding the XDCAM rage as it be comes more popular and the workflow more familiar and I'm sure this is not the last this year we will hear from Sony's XDCAM
